YWIB-San Francisco Bay Area & Fauna Bio: Genes to Drugs – Where Evolution Meets Innovation
- invitation only -
Join Young Women In Bio (YWIB) San Francisco Bay Area and Fauna Bio for an interactive evening where students will explore real lab techniques used in the biotech industry and connect with scientists working on groundbreaking research. Fauna Bio uses evolutionary biology, genetics, and AI to understand how and why some animals are resistant to disease and uses those insights to develop novel drug targets for humans. Students will get the opportunity to participate in a lab tour and engage in experiments aimed at understanding the molecular underpinnings of adaptive cellular physiologies. Don't miss this opportunity to explore cutting-edge research!
Notes: Closed-toe shoes are required. This is a drop-off event (parents/guardians should not attend). Space for the event is limited, so please register only if you can attend. Should your availability change after registration, please email sanfranciscoYWIB@womeninbio.org so we can offer your space to another student.
