Young Women In Bio presents the Planting the Seeds of Science Workshop designed to encourage young women to explore career opportunities & fields of study in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This event offers lab tours, demonstrations of lab experiments, and discussions in the field of science. It will be held at the Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Institute at McGill University. McGill graduates will introduce girls aged 14-15 years to the wonders of science at the bench. The workshop targets girls in ninth grade, and they are free to attend.
Note: This is a drop-off event.

10:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. WIB Introduction
10:15 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Presentation, trivia, introduction to McGill and cancer research
10:45 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Break
11:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. Lab Demonstration
11:45 a.m. – 12:20 a.m. Presentations on possible academic and non-academic career paths
12:20 p.m. – 13:00 p.m. Lunch, discussions, wrap-up & pickup
